Session export: Mc'Coysons v. Lulaire

Case No: 1332 Date: Elona 5th, 42 ABY Reporting Officer: Lt. Le'Eon Ken'Nedy and Sgt. Cla'Ire Red'Fields Prepared By: Cla'Ire Red'Fields Incident: The Selen Cops responded to an Emergency call on property destruction, noise disruption, and domestic violence.

Detail of Event: Ken'Nedy and I arrived to a family farm belonged to the Mc'Coysons to find a few ambulances to take five assaulted victims to the nearest hospital. They claim that a female from neighboring farm had attacked them. When spoke to the female, Lulaire, she claimed it was all self-defense and did agree that she was on their property and not on hers.

Actions Taken: The owner of Mc'Coysons property decided not to have her arrested but rather take her to court to pay for the injuries she did on his five family members and wanted their land in court.

Summary: Lulaire stated she was saving an animal they were harming. She also stated she would be happy to see them in court and said, I quote, “Yall ain’t gonna get any of this fine green grass because you don’t have a gud heart to take care of it! Yall have to pry it from my dead hands ya lint licker!”

The five males are healing from their injuries.

Male 1: Ben'Nie Mc'Coysons. Broken jaw and femur Male 2: Ken'Nie Mc'Coysons. Broken femur and collarbone Male 3: Ke'Vine Mc'Coysons. Broken jaw, femur, and ribs. Male 4: Kei'eith Mc'Coysons. Broken femur, ribs and pinky toe. Male 5: Len'Nie Mc'Coysons. Broken tibula, ribs, and humerus.

With a large sigh, Ellisyn Kendis leaned back in her cozy leather chair. Unsurprisingly, starting her own law firm came with a plethora of challenges. Recently, she had hired an assistant to help organize the chaos that came with the territory, but even then, there was only so much her wonderful helper could take on. Elly was still left with a stack of financial paperwork directly next to a stack of cases for her to look through. With a slight groan, she pushed herself to grab the stack of case files and sift through them for something interesting, coming upon a rather interesting request for aid. It seemed a farmer named Lula had gone and assaulted five people all on her own, all for the sake of an abused animal. And apparently, she had an interesting way with words judging by her statement.

Ever since moving to Selen, she had lost her main source of stress relief and evening entertainment and was feeling stuck, locked in place. Thankfully, though, her potential client was interested in a house call as opposed to making the journey into the city. In a rash, split-second decision, Elly picked up her communicator and gave Lula a ring to set up a time to visit the farm and discuss the case.

Elly didn’t own a speeder of her own and often relied on public transport, and today, she was very grateful she had found someone willing to bring her all the way out to the farmlands. The trip was longer than the lawyer was used to, but she didn’t mind. It gave her time to review the charges and get into a proper mindset.

Upon arriving, the large woman didn’t hesitate to step out of the vehicle after paying the driver a handsome fee. She was dressed in a gray windowpane suit with purple flowing through the pattern to match her purple shirt. With one hand occupied with holding a brown leather briefcase, she was left to use only the other to fluff out her hair after having it smushed against the car seat. The Firrerreo took in a long, drawn-out breath through her nose. She had never been to a farm before, so the scent was something new for her, and time would tell whether or not she’d like it.

The land is vast and flat. A few trees here and there that the animals would take solace in on very hot days. There was several barns, houses of different sizes, and animals peacefully grazing. To constantly keep the animals on the move, the family owns a large plot of the land and would have to move them around for grass and habitat reasons. Right now, Elly would see a heard of Orbaks and Tauntauns on a fenced lot. The other animals were on the range at the moment. She may have noticed them on the way here.

There’s of course, a few feline and canines running around and playing. Some even hunting or snoozing on an orbak’s back. There was a gentle breeze blowing through and helping with the humdity of Selen’s climate.

A female Ferrerro can be seen at a barn, she was loading bales of hay onto a cart being pulled by a pair of orbaks. There was other few members working around but by the picture on the case file, this was the target Elly was looking for.

Elly enjoyed the scenery for a few moments as she settled her mind and body. With Selen’s weather and temperature, she was glad she had elected to wear her vest as well today. Upon spotting someone who looked like Lula, the lawyer had to hold back a curse. She had hoped the woman would at least be in her home so she wouldn’t have to walk through grass and dirt. But so be it.

The long-haired woman trudged along towards Lula, and once within earshot, she shouted, “Lulaire!?” She continued walking forward towards the woman and her group.

Lula’s head turned at her name as she grinned from afar.

“Hidey-ho there! Come on over!” Lula waved her over as she continued to move the bale of hays. Once Elly got close enough, “Sorry, we be a bit behind today, four of our orbaks done gave birth last night so we a bit low on sleep and decided to sleep in after checkin’ them babies are healthy.”

Then she nodded her head to the rest of her working family, all spread out and out of earshot, “Now we are tryin’ to catch up on our work.” Lula grunted as she picked up a bale of hay and moved it to the wagon.

Ellisyn sighed internally as she walked further into the farmland, making sure to watch her step, what with all the animals running about. “Don’t apologize,” Elly said, trying to start their relationship off well. “We can’t always control our circumstances.” The Firrerreo assured.

“As much as I appreciate your drive to get work done, do you have anywhere we can sit to discuss your case?”

Lula paused and blinked at Ellisyn. Oh?

“Oh sorry! This is something that we hafta be sittin’ down for? Uhhhh…” She trailed off, looking around. “Yea! Yea! I recokon we can do that one moment. I'mma about to shout so if ya senstive in them ears, might wanna cover up.” She waited for some affirmation from the lawyer before bellowing in her chest, “HEY NAV'VEE!”

Followed by a loud and distanced, “WHAT!?”

“BARN FIVE DOORS!” Then Lula looked back to Elly, “There we go, dey on the way now.” She finished loading the wagon up and dust her hands on her pants. An annoyed female Firrerreo appeared, looking like they went through the wrangler with mud but Lula didn’t pay them any mind, “Mind takin’ them hay and fill up the feeds? I got business stuff to take care of.”

“Ya, ‘ourse” They responded as they got up on the wagon and it started to be pulled by the orbaks with Nav'vee directing them.

“A'right, follow me.” She lead her to a small nice area that had patio chairs and tables as Lula suggested for her to sit down too.

When Lula paused to blink, Elly blinked back. They were both out of their element, it seemed. She adjusted her grip on her bag and nodded to the woman to give her the go-ahead to shout, appreciating the warning. She wasn’t on high alert, but it was always nice to have warnings for loud noises. The lawyer watched with vague curiosity, her interest piqued by the goings-on. She’d worked with plenty of farmers but never been out to see one, and so far, it was about as she had expected. What she didn’t expect was for Lula’s companion to be coated in what was hopefully mud and for her to seem so nonchalant about it. Elly would be fuming if she found herself in Nav’vee’s state.

But that’s just how things were on a farm, she supposed. She followed her fellow Firrerreo to a cute little area and took a seat when offered. She set her bag on the table and let out a large breath. “So. Lulaire. Let’s get the boring stuff out of the way. My name is Ellisyn Kendis, and I’m here because you assaulted five men, and they have filed a lawsuit against you. Could you tell me a bit about that whole situation?” Usually, she’d try to beat around the bush a bit, but it seemed as if Lulaire was busy and not exactly the type to appreciate small talk. But who knows, maybe she’s wrong.

“Aw come on!” Lula sound exasperated. Of course they would try to file lawsuit against her!

“Look ‘ere! They were hurtin’ a vulptex! No reason either! Didn’t make sense to me ya know! So I uh- sorta gently… kidnapped it. And might’ve accidently hurt them just a smidge tryin’ to get the wittle thang, ya know?” She held up two fingers and give her a ‘just a little bit’ gesture.

Elly had to hold back a pained noise upon hearing they were hurting a vulptex. The report didn’t specify the species of the animal and it was certainly close to home.

She sat up straighter “A vulptex?” She asked, confused as to why they’d even have one “Is it still here?” There was concern laced into her voice. Depending on the state of the poor thing she might be tempted to get in line to be the next to beat the five idiots

“Yea! Lemme, ‘old on” She whistled and there was some sounds in one of the barns. Sounded like a group of happy barks and yips.

“Give them a min, they on the way. Vulptexes are real tough. We tried to get it to rest but uh-” She tilted her head to the direction of noise. “As ya can see, nothing slowing her down-”

The vulptex was a triped. There was bandages around her. She also had the cone of shame, but that was not stopping her from pushing her other furry friends that were too, running up to them. She was going to get the pets first, dammit.

“We thought that cone of shame woulda slow her down but nah, she barrels through the house and animals as if they are her tacklin’ grounds and even used it as a barrier to steal the other animal food.” Lula chuckled in amusement. Sure enough, the Vulptex rammed right near by Elly’s legs and was trying to get some pets in and using the cone to get the other animals.

Lula was petting a few and then picked up a young boar-wolf and gave it belly rubs.

Elly cringed ever so slightly at the high-pitched whistle, her sensitive ears stinging. She often took for granted how much her helmet helped filter out pitches. But the discomfort immediately vanished the moment she heard the happy noises. A small amount of excitement welled up inside her. There was more than one. She waited eagerly until she saw the group of furry creatures barreling towards them, and she couldn’t suppress the happy squee that came from her chest.

The moment she saw the crystalline fox, her heart swelled and shattered and then swelled again when she noticed it was missing a limb. She wanted to get up and carry it back over to spare it the difficulty of moving, but it seemed it was getting along just well. Even after tripping, it was the first to arrive. Elly didn’t hesitate to start petting and scratching the adorable animal, not caring about the damage and dirtying of her slacks.

Any professionalism Elly had tried to display had gone out the window as she leaned down to scratch as many animals as she could, humming and cooing at the group as she tried to give them all an equal amount of pats. “They’re all so frakking cute!” She exclaimed with glee

Lula laughed as she was trying to give them pets as well.

“Yea, we ain’t just a breedin’ farm ya know? Everyone here got their own part to play. Like them felines? They help catch them mice that can harm the animal’s feeds. Canines? They help keep them predators away and sniff them out too. Heck, some of their jobs is just to lay around, look so stinkin’ adorable and get some pets in so we could feel better about our stressful day, ya know?” Lula smiled.

She was glad Elly was enjoying this. There was nothing wrong to relish into the simple pleasures in life.

“Butcha, I was workin’ on a fence way yonder, close to the Mc'Coysons fence line. Part of me wonder if they be the ones that damaged it but-” She waved her hand, that wasn’t important.

“Then I heard her cry and yelps. Along with some angry shoutin’. I even felt it. Force and all. I did not like that. So, I walked over, gently kidnapped her, maybe accidently bumped into one or two of them and made way back home and helped her. See, I don’t have good healin’ powers like most Jedi have, so she had to… it was too gone. But look at her. Not stoppin’ that gal one bit. In fact, she’s our best burrower so far. You shoulda seen her last night. I took her out to go wee ya know? But she was takin’ so long to come back in I got worried she went back over there cause maybe she thinkin’ that be her home. I found her, burrowin’ and when I call out, she lift’d her head and had a cone full of dirt spillin’ everywhere.”

Lula shook her head.

“She dun like baths, I tell ya that.”

So it’s like one big company or city Elly mused to herself, putting the pieces of how everything worked together. It was rather fascinating to think about how much went into just one farm like this. Her ears perked back up once Lulaire continued on about the case, listening intently whilst petting the poor Vulptex.

“Let’s start from the top there. If they intentionally damaged your fence and you can find proof of it, that would certainly be helpful, especially if you’re a Jedi. We need to make our argument unbreakable as beskar. They’ll be able to throw a lot of different things at us about excessive force and potential manipulation since, in all actuality, they were completely and utterly powerless against you since you have access to the force.”

She let out a long sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. Of course, it was gonna be complicated, she should’ve guessed. “I’m not at all condoning what they did to our little friend here, but you have to be very very careful about what you say and do. As a Jedi, you can’t just go around hurting people, whether it is just or not.” She felt like she was talking herself in circles, and she was. “Just…” She closed her eyes and took a moment before looking down at the three-legged cutie. “I don’t like baths either,” she said to the cute creature

“Well, that be the thing though, we got no proof. But we seen animals damages them fences quite a bit and it was no animal damage. Predator or prey.”

Elly went on explaining and express her concerns about her being a Jedi. She gets it. Her family has been on this land for generations and she knew how they… feel about the people that came in and bascially settled in. At first, they weren’t sure about Lulaire considering she had the Force, but over time and with a really good master, her family was no longer concern and Lulaire was at peace.

“As for fighting them, I is careful. I had not use a drop of the Force on them. In fact, I reckon they dunno that I’m a Jedi.” Lula grinned as she gently picked up a harakoan Polecat and placed it on her lap as she started to pet it and give scratches.

Lula’s eyebrow rose at Elly mention that she doesn’t like baths.

“Oh, dang, I tell ya what, I def cannot imagine not taking a bath. I guess it’s because I work here.”

Guess I’ll just have to find some proof… Elly mused to herself while focusing on the animal before her. She had no doubt that Lulaire didn’t use the force against the farmers, but just the fact that she could have was going to make this difficult. If they kept it a secret, things would be easier if nobody found out, but if they didn’t divulge it and it was brought up during the case, then Lulaire would be truly screwed.

“I’m too tall, and I either end up laying on my hair, or it gets all bunched up and is an absolute bitch to brush out,” Elly explained her reasoning. She loved lakes and beaches, just as she assumed the Vulptex did. But a bath was always sucky.

She thought for another couple of moments, “Would you mind showing me the fence?”

“Oh! Well, I be durned. That makes sense! Actually, ya know what?” She looked around, orange hues searching for something and she found.

“See that big ol’ metal tub? Well, it the animals water but I reckon you can fit in it. If ya have room or privacy outside of ya home, slap on some water seal thing-mingys to keep it from rusting once a year and ta-da, you got yourself a nice long big tub ol’ water if ya interested. Ya know, if ya wanna be able to relax after a long day when you get home.” Lulaire figured it wouldn’t hurt for her to offer her idea.

"The fence? Ya, sure can do. You wanna mount a ride or rather ride in a wagon?” Lula asked.

Immediately Elly knew she must’ve been misunderstanding, the sounds of ruffled crystals making Lula more difficult to understand. Mix that with a foreign accent and you had a recipe for disaster. The lawyer fuckin’ blushed, her entire face turning silver.

“You… Want me to go take a bath in your animals drinking water? Out in the middle of the open?”

“W-wha?! What no!” Lulaire frowned, she didn’t want her to be uncomfortable! And no way someone was gonna take a bath in the animal’s water, nah-uh.

“What I meant, was ya can buy one, take it home, and have a bath if ya interested. If ya still despite baths, well that’s fine! I was just tryin’ to think of ideas to help ya cause while I ain’t no tall warrior, I do have my own issues to face being short.”

“Oh!” Elly blushed even harder at the misunderstanding. She barely resisted to hit herself for almost considering it. “Sorry, I didn’t think, you see, I’ve never had a yard or anything so the idea of putting something outside is foreign to me.” She felt like absolute hell for the misunderstanding. “I appreciate the idea though, it’s thoughtful.”

“Oooh! I forget some people dun’t have a yard or privacy. I do be sorry, I wasn’t thinking very clear.” Lulaire attempted to not noticed the poor lawyer’s blush and didn’t want to bring it up, in case Elly was not the kind to take that well.

“Welp!” She slap her hands on her legs and got up as she gave a few more animals some scratches. “Lemme get us a wagon, not sure if you be comfortable with a mount. Be right back, enjoy spoiling them.” Lulaire grinned at Elly as she headed into a barn.

~

It didn’t take long as she emerged with a narglatch with a wagon behind it.

“This is Bafforr.” She pointed to the wagon behind it.

“Hop on! Heck, you can take one or two of them if ya want.” She gestured to the group of animals still begging for some pets.

Elly was silent as she fidgeted with one of the Vulptex’s crystals. She couldn’t believe she had misheard what Lulaire had said. If it was possible for one to die of embarrassment, she would’ve in that moment.

She nodded her silver head when the other Firrerreo announced her plan to grab a wagon, making sure to pay exact attention to the context of mount this time around. She pulled the triped into her lap and held her softly as she waited.

By the time Lulaire made it back to the assorted patio furniture, Elly had managed to calm herself down just enough for her blush to settle. She smiled softly up at the Firrerreo sitting atop the wagon and made her way on over.

She brought her new crystal fox friend along with her and offered the animal to Lulaire to grab. “Grab her so I can climb up.”

“Sure thang!” She grabbed the vulptex and placed it beside her so it could ride between them. The moment Elly got up, the vulptex sat on Elly’s lap as soon as possible.

“Alrighty then, off we go.” She clicked her teeth and the narglatch started to pull at a steady pace. At first, at the rocky path, Lulaire liked the sound of the gravel shift underneath the wheels. Then once they got to the grass, the ride was smoother. People had always asked why they don’t get technology to get around instead old fashioned wagon. The answer was simple.

Simplicity, beauty, and money. The upkeep on technology, geez. You can’t enjoy the nature and check up on things if you go too fast. And simplicity, well the answer was there.

“Well, I’ll be.” Lularie growled softly, canines flashing. There was four men at the fence and looked like they were damaging it.

“Welp! You ready to go meet the kind gentlemen?” Lulaire asked Elly. Then she frowned, the vulptex was now trying to get behind Elly’s back even though it was pressed up against the bench as if to hide.

With her arms free of the Vulptex, Elly climbed aboard the wagon, making sure to smooth her jacket down before fully taking a seat. It was already dusty and covered in hair from the animals, but it was a habit she had learned and wasn’t about to stop. Once she was settled, she took the animal from her fellow Firrerreo and helped it settle into her lap.

Elly had never been on a rudimentary transport like the one they were using, and if she were being completely honest, she found it slightly uncomfortable. The crunching sounds were hell on her ears, and the bumping wasn’t fun either.

But she didn’t complain. Instead, the lawyer focused on her new best buddy, scratching it under the ears and along its crystalline fur. Ellisyn was startled when the blue creature suddenly jumped from her lap and started to seek shelter behind her. Something was definitely wrong.

Prompted by Lulaire, the woman looked around to see the group of men wailing on the fence that bordered their properties. A small part of her was satisfied that she was able to deduce the reason for the damaged fence, but the majority of her was furious. These were the guys who had hurt her lil friend, and she was not exactly happy.

“Let’s settle this peacefully,” she silently growled to Lulaire. Nothing good would come of violence.

“It ain’t me ya gotta worry about. I never throw first punch. I do throw the last though.” Lularie protested. The men and women glared at the two Firrerrerros as they approached. Vulptex was completely hidden in the back of the wagon, somewhere.

“So, it was yall that be hurting our fenc-”

“This be our property line!”

“We done this before, we got out the maps and-”

“They were wrong! And now you hurt our kin!” They kicked over one of the posts. Then they started to approach the pair, looking intimidating with their miscellaneous weapons and what not. The group anger was obvious and emitting off of their auras. Lularie sighed softly as she looked over to Elly.

“I am sorry.”

“Hey, lady!” One of them pointed a wrench at Elly. “We don’t know who ya is, but turn around, walk away, and ya won’t get hurt!”

“I sure hope so…” Elly mumbled in response to Lulaire’s defensive comment. She wasn’t so much worried about her fellow Firrerreo getting into a fight more than she herself would be involved in it all. “And don’t apologize. This comes with the territory. This isn’t the first time I’ve been threatened.”

The ‘Lawyer’ hopped off the wagon in front of the group of idiots and simply began to remove her jacket. “Who I is,” she mocked their vocabulary, “is Lulaire’s lawyer. And the three of you are not only trespassing,” She began to roll up her shirt sleeves, “But you are also willfully causing damage to her property. Now, I will only say this once, leave. By doing this, you’ve already ruined any chance of getting any compensation for what happened to your kin. The last thing the four of you want to do is end up in prison as well.”

“Huh. Yea, I reckon I can see that.” It made sense if Elly had seen her share of fights. She was a lawyer after all and very hands on too. Most lawyers would be behind their desks in a dusty room but Elly? Nah. This was an awesome hands on lawyer.

The group eyes narrowed as the leader scowled, “Let’s get them!”

Shisnia: “Shut up, you schutta!” She turned on the Electrobaton and aimed to take a swipe at Elly since she was the closest.

Elly rolled her eyes at being called a schutta. She looked back to Lulaire as if to ask if this was really happening or not, which she soon would realize was a pretty big lapse of judgment. The lawyer was brought back to the task at hand by the pain of electricity shooting through her body, her muscles tensing involuntarily as pain coursed through her. The woman let out an almost feral growl and snatched the wrist of her attacker, pulling them away slowly.

“You really, really shouldn’t have done that.” Elly pulled her fist back and threw it forward in an overhead punch directed right for the woman’s head.

Zeinio

He didn’t have much. He wasn’t made for the fighting but the rage was enough to anger him. He threw a wrench at Lulaire.

Lulaire

Distracted by the electricbaton, she took a step to help Elly but ended up clenching her jaw when there was intense pain that struck at her temple. She can feel warm blood trickled down the side of her face and she can smell her blood.

She attempted to grab Zeinio’s arm to put him in a lock so she can knee him in the temple.

Misai

While Elly and Lulaire was distracted, she attempted to jump on Elly’s back and wrap an arm around her neck.

Leader

With Elly having three already on her, he decided to pick on the shorty. With a burst of speed, he attempted to punch her side.

Shisnia

The hit contacted as she stagger back. She knelt down on one knee and held her head.

Elly stumbled forward slightly from the force of Misai’s jump, her growl being cut off by the woman’s arm suddenly pressing against her windpipe. The lawyer reached behind to Misai’s shoulder and grabbed on tight. With am angry grunt she managed to pull the woman off and use both her strength and Misai’s weight to yeet the vagrant towards Shisnia

Zeinio He tried to get out of the arm luck but Lulaire was too strong.

Lulaire

Lulaire turned his body and brought her knee up to his temple in attempt to knock him out.

Misai

Knocked out as her body hit Shisnia

Leader

As his fist made contact, he was foolish to forget to straighten it and heard a sickening crack as he cried out in pain. Craddling the hand to his chest, he brought his leg up and tried to heel kick Elly’s knee inwards.

Shisnia

She felt the heavy body landed on her and grunted. It took her a while but she manage to push Misai off of her.

Elly flashed a small smirk when she watched Misai hit one of the other farmers. She had expected it to be easy.

The leader punched her and even she sorta winded at the unexpected cracking sound that came from it

But she didn’t expect it to be this easy. She tilted her head and gave the man a ‘really?’ type look, taunting the Leader into a telegraphed kick, making it so Elly was easily able to lean in and slam her first into his face before his leg even made contact.

Zeinio

Quickly, he brought his hands to try to block the knee that was coming for his temple but it made impact as he grimaced.

“You shcutta!” He attempt to uppercut Lulaire’s jaw.

Lulaire

She tried to block the uppercut but it made contact to her jaw as she grimaced in pain and stumbled back.

Leader

There was no time to react or move as the fist made contact. His ears rang for a moment but that did not deter his anger as he brought his elbow to jab at her.

Shisnia

She finally got up and took Misai’s electrobaton and attempted to whack the biggest threat right now, Elly, with it.

Elly was more than used to fighting larger groups on her own and was accustomed to being hit and stabbed and sliced multiple times in a fight, but it doesn’t mean she didn’t try to avoid it.

She noticed Shisnia try to be clever and join in the skirmish so she went and grabbed the Leader by the elbow he was using and ripped him off his feet and used him as a shield against the baton, dropping him to the ground the moment the baton made contact

Zeinio

He took the chance with Lulaire stumbled back and aimed to kick her in the stomach.

Lulaire

She moved back away from the kick and grabbed his leg to pull him and attempt to strike Zeinio.

Leader

With an angry yell in pain, he didn’t stay down for long as he swung around with a punch for Elly.

Shisnia

Shisnia grimaced as she accidently hit her own brother with the baton. It took her a few moments to recollect.

Elly was more than happy to take as much of a beating as she needed, but when she noticed the blood flowing down Lulaire’s head from the first blow of the battle, she decided to maybe try and get the attention of the group on her in a bit of a flashy way. She went to sidestep the Leader’s blow, but with her being distracted, she was still hit. But just like before, she barely felt a thing. The leader may be big and strong, but that didn’t mean he had any sort of technique behind his punches, something that was very evident.

She looked down at the leader and went to grab his head and bring it down to her knee.

Zeinio

Zeinio easily brought his leg back and went for a hook at Lulaire’s temple.

Lulaire

Lulaire winced when the punch made contact with her temple and she knew she was going to have a bruise there. Lulaire tries to kick him in the nuts.

Leader

He brought his hands up to protect his face but it was too late as there was a painful loud sound when the knee made contact to his temple as he yelled.

“OKay OKAY!” He shouted, “we’ll drop the case and leave the fence alone!” He backed up along with the other group as Shisnia tries to grab Misai and pick her up

Elly took the moment to take stock of the current situation. They were backing away which was good but a quick glance to the side revealed both a reminder of what they had done to the Vulptex that was cowering in the wagon, but also a bleeding and hurt Lulaire. She wasn’t having any of it.

She took a heavy step forward and bared her teeth in a growl “Next time it’ll be your farm and every credit you’ve ever saved,” she threatened in the most lawyer way possible

The leader glared right back her but there was a silent agreement. For now. They took their wounded and left.

Lulaire wiped the blood away from the wrench that hit her earlier and was pleased to see it was already dry. She started to walk back towards the wagon.

“Well. I reckon Imma be restin’ today,” Lulaire sounded a bit bummed but she and her family wasn’t the kind to push themselves when injured because it means longer recovery time period and things would be more behind than usual.

Elly was thankfully she hadn’t ripped anything while fighting, glad she got to keep both a suit and her modesty at the same time. Mix that with minimal damage and a case already closed, this was an absolute win for her.

“Yeah?” She asked with a chuckle, following along over “Thought you’d be hungry for more.” She had a pep in her step and plenty of enthusiasm in her voice. “How’s the healing coming?”

“Ah, I’m not much of a fighter to be honest with ya, I’m more of a farmer. I just fight when I need to. Selen dun have the best history with Force Users ya know?” She then clicked her tongue for Bafforr to take them back to the main house.

“I also don’t have Force Healing, those are pretty rare I heard. But it’s okay, should be healed up by tomorrow and it already be dried. Though, never thought I would meet a lawyer that has joy for battles.”

“Ive been hearing that, yeah. I’m not exactly surprised. People often feel threatened and lesser around people more powerful than them.” She looked around for her three legged friend and happily took him up in her arms and sat him in her lap to hold close and securely. She shrugged at the joy for battles comment “It runs in the family I suppose. I’m the first Kendis that isn’t a soldier or some sort of fighter.” But she wasn’t ready to talk about herself, she was too pumped full of energy

“Honestly we should be celebrating. Not only did we managed to close the case in only a day, but it’s not gonna cost a dime. A couple of bruises like that should heal up in a couple hours. Just get some food in ya and we’ll be set.

“Celebrating?” Lulaire blinked to Ellisyn in slight confusion. Her family doesn’t really celebrate things. They just grind the good ol’ farm life. Sure, they do have a bit of feast on first day of spring and first day of winter.

“Well, you can hang out with us tonight when we have dinner. We all eat together in mornings and night time. I warn ya though, big family, we do get really loud and sometimes really rowdy. But good meats, sweets, and sweet tea mhmm!”

“Yeah, celebrating!” Elly said, feeling nice and bubbly and happ. “You really underestimate how much I cost, even when I’m cutting a bit of a deal.” She said without thinking, almost immediately regretting her words

“Yes! Yes I’d love to join you for dinner. You and your family.” She began to stammer as she tried to move the conversation along

“Well, even then, I suppose you don’t take Orbaks as payment now do ya?” Lulaire joked to Ellisyn and shook her head.

“On a more serious note, I know we don’t look like much but we do have enough credits if we needed to. We just hopin’ not to cause ya, they been causin’ quite a ruckus lately. They should chill out now to lick their wounds, huh little one?” Lulaire gave the Vulptex head scratches as it was resting by Elly’s side.

“Alright, dinner it is then. I’ll see if the main house got a guest room for ya ready in case ya get too tired from all the food. Or you rather not stay?”

Elly laughed at Lulaire’s joke, giving her a smile while still trying to clarify what she said “I’m not saying you wouldn’t be able to pay or that you look poor or anything, you don’t. But nobody likes to pay lawyer fees, y'know?”

She watched her pet the Vulptex and just enjoyed the moment, loving the happy expression on their crystalline buddy. “Stay the night? Maybe. Really just depends on how I’m feeling I suppose, my kids are staying the night with my mom anyway so I don’t really need to be anywhere. If you’ll have me of course and aren’t just offering to be polite.”

“That makes sense, and we don’t mind. Can use a bit of company. Maybe my family would be less rambunctious with a new guest. Sometimes they behave, sometimes they act the same.” Lulaire chuckled as she shook her head.
