Session export: COU-Cantina

Cantina Bar, Main Capital Kiast

Scene: Odan-Urr and their friends have been invited to a group gathering at the local cantina. All are invited. Just make sure you have shirt and shoes. This is an anti-flip flop establishment. Aura Ta'var waits at one of the booths off to the bottom left of the bar, a bottle of Rancor Tequila already ready to go should it be needed.

Aura Ta'var saw Waden Skylanders enter the cantina and called him over to her table, offering him a seat across from her.

Waden reacted to her offer, decided to take a seat.

“You seems familiar, have we seen each other therefore?” The Young Padawan asked Aura.

“Hello there. I remember you from the village all those years ago. Elyon tells me good things about your training so far.”

“It’s was great, but I have a feeling about being hold back, I few I could be even more…” He spoke out of his arrogant.

“Well, tell me about your training some more,” she said.

A serving droid walked over and she quickly ordered the table some hot chocolate. Cups were placed before them and Aura looked at Waden expectantly.

“Go on,” she offered as she slid the cup his way.

“It was basics, and nothing really special happened, but I remember there’s a moment I lost my lightsaber, It’s a pain for me just to find, only to learn my master was holding it.” I’d speak tp Aura.

“It’s just replay sometimes, and I starting to get a false feeling about the code.”

“Why is that?”

“Look, if the sith and Jedi exist, why don’t we just mix them all up?, like, a Light and Dark, why Balance wasn’t a option?” He asked.

“The path of the Jedi is not about achieving perfect light. It is about helping others and making the galaxy a better place. We follow the light because it strives to protect life but sometimes we still have to take life, if left no choice.”

“I know Elyon has taken you on missions where you have helped people. How did that make you feel?”

“It was great, but it rise my desire to destroy every single of those Siths, even further more.”

“It rise my aware of keep on being a Jedi.”

Aura smiled knowingly. “I once wanted to destroy all the Sith too. Thing is, it turns you into one of them. What do you do when the thing you swore to destroy is now you?”

“I won’t, I won’t fail Elyon or anyone in the Jedi, I will destroy them without turning into one.”

“Is it possible.”

“Well I tried to do that and got a lot of innocents killed in the process. I wouldn’t recommend fighting them like a Sith.

Instead defend those they attack. You still will inevitably get to fight them but you also get to thrawt their plans.”

“You have a differ view than me, I can destroy them through politics, combat, even Forces Powers.”

“Their treason will end somewhere, but if it’s longer than the more will suffer.”

“I won’t let it keep on, Jedi Master.”

“We don’t let them keep on. We stand in their way each time they try to do something bad. I will never let them get away with it. And I don’t need to turn into them to get there.”

“Huh, that’s a good point.”

Sarai walks into the Cantina in her admiral’s uniform, she walks up to the bar and orders her signature Corellian Sunrise.

“Who there?”

I’d hold my hand on the lightsaber grip.

take on Form I stance.

turns to Aura and raises her eyebrow

“Hello there, Sarai,” said Aura. “Relax, padawan. She is a friend. Use your feelings. You will sense no danger there.”

“What?, I do not know if she’s a Jedi or not.”

“She could be a Sith in any possiblities.”

Sarai smirks

“I’m not a Jedi.”

“I’m also not here to fight anybody.”

“Be nice to my friend. She means us no harm nor to the cantinas denizens,” said Aura to Waden.

I’d look at Aura, “Yes, Jedi Master…” I’d deignite my saber.

Sit back to the seat.

Being a little dissapointed and embrassed.

“It’s okay. Use the Force and you’ll see for yourself. No malice from her.”

Aura slid the cup of hot chocolate closer to Waden. “Drink it before it gets cold”.

“Sarai, this is Waden. Waden this is Sarai,” said Aura making introductions.

I’d take the cup, take a small sip.

inclines her head to Waden “Nice to meet you.”

I’d look to her, nodded back “Yeah, a honor, outlander.”

“Glad you could make it, Sarai. Not often I get free time like this. I got the good stuff,” she said as she pointed to a bottle of Rancor Tequila.

“It’s Admiral, not outlander, padawan” turning to Aura, Sarai smiles as she asks “Pour a glass and let us catch up!”

“I still call you Outlander, might be somethings else, haha.”

“Sure thing, admiral sarai outlander,” Aura teased as she poured the glasses. “So what’s new?”

Sarai laughs at the teasing and smirks at Aura recognizing the humor “doing some flight preparations for a mission in a few days, how about yourself?”

“I don’t have as many troops as you do but they keep me busy,” she said as she pulled out her line of pictures of her kids and goofy wolf dog. They included 3 small children and her oldest Zoe who was fast approaching preteen years.

“My oldest is already with her new jedi master. Barely see her amymore.”

“Huh, families, I always wonder if I had one.” Waden said.

“Everyone has a family. Just some get lost. Galaxy can be really mean that way.

You know what they say though, the family you find is just as special. The Force finds a way somehow.”

A middle-aged human male dressed in a earthen toned jacket, undershit and boots came through the front door in such a way to not draw attention to himself. The man scanned the cantina quickly for familiar and unfamiliar faces and immediate made his way to join Aura.

“Aura, good to see you. I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by.” He glanced at her other companions. “I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Turel, resident, um, I don’t know what I am anymore” He chuckled.

“Regular guy I guess” he added.

“Huh, another person who I never know, can this meeting get any stranger?” I’d be questioning.

“Hey Turel, nice to meet you,” said Aura with a familiar smile. “I am glad you could make it. We have Admiral Sarai here and Padawan Waden.”

Aura looked towards Waden. “Now this is a very interesting Jedi,” she told him as she waved her hand towards Turel.

“Interesting Jedi?, I don’t know, he looks more of a bounty hunter to me.”

Aura chuckled. “He just likes to blend in. I don’t bother trying to hide anymore. Jedi robes makes a statement even in instances when you don’t want them to.”

“Much like admiral uniforms,” aura teased Admiral Sarai.

“Interesting…now I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not” Turel grinned.

I’d just spoke to her again: “So, uniform describe your role or kind of like it?”

“Mine or Sarai’s?”

“Both.” I’d make a straight to the point word.

“Well she runs a ship so that uniform tells everyone she is in charge on that ship. I used to the High Councillor but now I’m just another Jedi. I wear these robes to tell the world I’m a Jedi and because I like them. They are very comfy. I take all the attention away from the sentinels so they can do their work uninterrupted,” she patiently explained.

“Turel, you want any specific kind of drink?”

“Corellian whiskey on the rocks” Turel replied reflexively. “Thanks.”

“And the sentinels appreciate it.”

“I forgot i don’t enjoy lectures, but thanks, I get it now.” I’d response to Aura.

“Well we will have to show it in a mission then,” she said. “We’ll probably end up being the bait,” she told Waden.

“So, Turel, how is the family?”

“Nayru is getting bigger by the day and Vorsa, well, I finally talked her into taking some time for herself. But she has so many students these days.”

“Nice. She never takes a break it seems. I don’t get to see a lot of Master Vorsa.”

“Nice to hear about Nayru doing well. What is she getting up to?”

Turel pondered for a moment as he relived as his adoptive daughter’s recent antics around the house. “Oh, let’s see. She’s taken to setting up ‘ambushes’ for me in the house with the training sword Satsi gave her. Pretty effective ones too, for her age. She’s even trained Raava to help.”

Looking at Waden and Sarai he clarified, “Oh, Raava is a family pet. A polecat.”

I’d remain silent, listening to them while drinking.

Aura grinned. “Never thought Raava would betray you, Turel.”

“What’s up?” Elyon said when she stands behind her Padawan.

“That’s hurt.”

“Oh, hey Mentor, I’m here with a couple of strangers and master Aura.”

“Don’t call me mentor. I feel old…” Elyon said and sits next to him.

“Hey Elyon,” smiled Aura. “How is it going?”

“What brings you here?, The Force?” I’d ask Elyon.

“Well, if you weren’t freezed, then you’re indeed old right now, Mentor.”

“I’m older than all of you here so far,” Sarai states to nobody in particular

“So you’ll be paying for all of us?” teased Aura.

“I think I brought my student ID,” Turel joked.

snorts as she slightly unfurls one of her proboscis

“I just need some drink and company.” Elyon answered and looks at you.

“Glad to have you. It’s nice to just sit back and relax between missions.”

“Well, you sure relax about things huh Mentor, I’ll came here due to a request instead.” I’d drink the last sip of my drink.

“Thank you so much Aura.” Elyon said and smiles at her friend.

“Yes, i am sure about relax. And please call me Master.” Elyon said to Waden.

“So Padawan Waden, what kind of missions would you like to go on?” Aura asked.

It was a leading question but worthwhile with Master and Student next to her.

“I’d prefer learning through actions better than lectures, probably beating bad guys or stopping them from this and that is better for me.” I’d response to Aura.

“You need both…”

“I need, but there’s something called prefer Mentor, lectures and philosophy aren’t my thing.” I’d respones to Elyone

Liz smiled as she walked over to the group

“I like this kid. He is a go-getter. So who’s tab are we ordering on tonight?”

“Mine,” said Aura cautiously.

Liz slowly turned to Aura and grinned “Oh really? You’ve never been so quick to offer up your credits for a night out.” She turns to the bartender “I don’t want any of our glasses empty. Aura, you’re showing us that tattoo tonight whether you like it or not.”

“You wish,” she responded while rolling her eyes.

“So what’s new Liz?”

“Oh, nothing much.” threw back her first drink in one gulp “What’s the occasion?”

“Well, I didn’t get to see you for like 5 days. I wanted to make sure you were having fun. Also, look who is here,” she said with a smile as she looked over at Lynn.

Lynnyaria had decided to finally entertain Aura’s request for her to return to Kiast and discuss her feelings on the matters that caused her to storm off so many months ago, the Sephi had not quite sat down upon entering the Cantina, instead she was posted up near the Zeltron’s table with her helmet held beneath her left arm, her amber hues glancing between the pair; the look drawn upon the girl’s face showed clearly that she did not want to be there, though she still cleared her throat and spoke up. “Well.. You finally got me here.” The Sephi commented, “What’s the next course of action after luring me in?” She asked, “Block off the exits, throw me in a hole?” Lynn asked with a shrug, it seemed she had headed in clearly expecting some sort of ambush.

“The next plan is to sit down and have a drink with me,” replied Aura as she poured Lynn a shot of Rancor Tequila.

“We went through mando survival training together and totally nailed it. You don’t leave that without being friends or at least choosing to fight next time.” She thought back to the pair chipping away at ice to melt water.

Slowly stalking up to the table she slammed her helmet down on it, “So you send your ‘Friend’ off without giving them at least some general idea of what they’re up against.” She remarked tilting her head to the side slightly, “Or are we just not going to talk about that shitshow?” The girl spat out as she glanced at the Zeltron.

“After you have a shot of tequila, ” she replied. “We can chat when we are calm. And yes it was a shitshow. Much like most of our missions.”

Aura looked at the newcomer and felt the Jedi in the Force. “Welcome, fellow Jedi.”

Eleceos walked into the cantina. While he couldn’t “see” as a normal sentient could, the Force gave him all the “sight” he needed. This place, while being a bar, held such a calming energy. Eleceos loved his clan deeply, but the Light Side of the Force was very strong here. It was a shocking change to what he was used to and he felt…safe…here. Not that he wasn’t safe with his Clan. It was hard to explain.

He heard the welcome issued his way, and turned to face the one who sent it.

“Thank you for your hospitality.”

The Sephi temporarily cut her amber hues over to the new comer before affixing them back to Aura as she snatched the Tequila up from the table moving to find a seat to plop herself down in it quickly downing the beverage before slamming the cup upside down atop the table.

“Welcome stranger,” she replied to Eleceos. “What’s your poison?”

Aura looked at Lynnyaria. “Feeling a little better?”

Pursing her lips she began to slowly rotate the glass which her gloved hand rested atop, “It is going to take a lot more than alcohol..” The Sephi stated as she narrowed her eyes at Aura. “I am still very unhappy.” Was all the girl would remark on the matter.

Nez entered the bar and cast a glance around and noticed Aura sitting with a particularly irritated Mandalorian.

“Sup Aura! what’s new!”

Eleceos approached the bar, near where the Zaltron who welcomed him sat down. He took a seat and answered the query made of him

“Some calming tea would be good to start, if available?”

He knew that he was in a cantina, and the usual beverage for most was alcoholic, but the 20 year old Miraluka had not really drank before so that prospect worried him.

Elyon still sitting next to her Padawan and watches the newcomers. Young Jedi reach out for the Force to felt them.

This will be interesting, Elyon thought, watching the people who now caught her attention.

The door to the Cantina slid open before Korvis. Walking in he surveyed his surroundings with a quick look around. Numerous people lined the bar and the booths. Some he knew by sight others by reputation alone. This was definitely not the place to pick a fight as some of the strongest members of the Brotherhood frequented the place many of whom were here now. Spotting a free table in the back he strode towards it. As he passed the bartender he tossed a handful of credits onto the bar and kept walking.

“You didn’t order a drink, Sir.” the bartender said.

“No, I didn’t,” Korvis replied as he sat down with his back against the wall. “Those are for the drinks I won’t be ordering.”

Aura looked around the room at the newcomers and smiled, even at the mandalorian who was off by himself in a corner. “Welcome.”

The Zeltron looked back to her friend Lynn and patted her on the hand. “We’ll clear things up later, yeah? For now, let’s have some fun.”

Nez had taken a seat at the bar and watched the Mandalorian slink to his corner. Nez waved down the bartender to order a drink.

“What’ll you have or are you like your friend in the corner?” Nez forgot he was in his Mandalorian armor and stared at the bartender for a second before realizing what he was talking about.

“OH!” Nez realized. “No, I most definitely am not friends with house Vizsla, bunch of Mando'a who are all helmet, no head. I’ll just take a whiskey, bottom shelf.”

Aura looked towards Eleceos and was curious. She could feel the light emanating from him. Always nice to sense a Jedi, she thought to herself.

“Hello, I’m Aura. It’s nice to meet a fellow Jedi. What brings you here?”

Ele turned to the woman addressing him. Her visage through the Force sang like the setting sun. Brilliant oranges surrounded her, outlining her model with a buzzing calm. he happiness she felt was radiant to the Miraluka. He moved closer to her, sitting with his glass of tea.

“Hello there. I am Eleceos, but you may simply call me Ele if you wish. I’ve come to Kiast to acquaint myself with fellow Jedi. I love my Clan, and my family, but the pull of the Light was strong here. I wanted to feel immersed in the Light Side for a moment.”

Ele smiled, his white hair framing his face. He looked calm.

“Thank you and your Clan for your hospitality. It is most appreciated.”

Aura smiled.

“It’s a great feeling isn’t it? Hard to put into words but its so peaceful and clear. Like music on the wind or a fresh breeze after a rainstorm,” she said, trailing off for a moment. “You have any plans to visit the old Jedi temple while you are around?”

Ele leaned his head back slightly as Aura spoke of peace and clarity. He could feel the descriptions she gave and had to agree with her perspective. As she mentioned the temple, his focus returned to her.

“I wouldn’t want to impose, of course. Visiting a Jedi Temple would be amazing, but I wouldn’t want to go to a place I may not be welcomed. This planet isn’t my home, after all. I don’t want to offend anyone.”

Aura took a swig of her drink and relaxed.

“The temple is protected but if you go with a fellow Jedi it should be fine. It isn’t used anymore but its a great place to connect with our past Jedi,” she offered. “I could show you it if you wanted. We’ll try not to go when a youngling field trip is going on,” she added with a slight smile.

“I would love to visit there if possible. Obviously when there are no Younglings around. I would hate to cause any kind of trouble. With my specific situation, the less interaction around me is sometimes for the better.”

Ele drank from his teacup, his hands instinctively feeling a bit cold. He considered slipping on a pair of gloves, but chose not to draw attention to himself.

“Connection with the past is the best way to move forward towards a safe and bright future.”

Aura chuckled. “The younglings are very distracting and possibly loud. They love that field trip and always have plenty of energy.”

Overhearing the conversation about an ancient temple caused a noticeable change in Korvis demeanor. The Jedi and other members of the Brotherhood in the cantina knew he had to be on the planet for a reason. No one just passed through this system without some kind of objective.

Truth be told Korvis admired the Jedi. They stick to a code of honor and have a deep seated set of ideals that they followed. They are formidable, both as enemies, and allies. In many respects they are not much different than the Mandalorians. Though they probably don’t see it that way, there is a reason the two groups had fought each other for thousands of years, often you war with those that you are most similar to.

The temple may hold the Mandalorian armor he had traveled here to reclaim. Though the thought of storming a Jedi held temple, especially one with foundlings, or younglings as they called them, was not something he would entertain.

Eleceos laughed hearing about the younglings. Children deserved a life with fun. A life where they could laugh, and play, and be kids. No one realizes that more than those who were deprived of it. Thoughts and memories of long lonely days solidarity confined flooded Ele’s mind. The Jedi pushed those thoughts aside though. One should not be stuck in one’s past. Through the Force one must grow and learn to live in the hear and now.

“The training and nurturing of the younglings is paramount. I’m happy to hear Odan Urr takes that seriously.”

Liz walked to the left of Aura and placed her hand on the Zeltron’s right shoulder then bent over so she was eye level. “Just so happens there isn’t a class scheduled today in the temple. Aura, since you know it the best, why not show our new friends here what’s inside. What do you say gentlemen? How would you like to get out of this stuffy place. The miners are soon to be off their shift and it can get a little rough in here.”

Nez got up and moved over to the big Mandalorian sitting by himself and sat straight across from him before taking off his Mandalorian helmet and set it on the table next to him.

“So what is the leader of Clan Vizsla doing all the way out here?” Nez downed his drink after asking and placed the glass next to his helmet.

“Can no believe how far we go to find cantina you no been to,” Socorra commented as she and Wyn walked up to the entrance. “This place not on my list. Last I was in system was for a GJW, some decade ago. In the middle of a gigantic battle, I was a wee thing then. Promo’d twice right there on the fields of New Tython, for saber bounties. Literal field promotions.”

The Erinos paused for a second, scanning the area with and without the Force, before continuing up to the door and holding it open for the other Human. “That was my intro to Brotherhood: ‘Welcome aboard, now let’s go bag some Lighties.’”

The canteen began to fill with many different personalities with different stories, which now merge into one.

Elyon de Neverse, still focused on perceiving her surroundings through the Force, jerked involuntarily as a dark-haired woman entered the room.

Elyon still couldn’t get used to the presence of the Sith. During the Clone Wars, the Sith were considered an extinct species. Actually, they made it a little Jedi for us. The young Jedi thought, watching the woman, but trying to make it look natural. Because she didn’t intend to cause an incident.

Eyeing the human before him, Korvis studied him carefully. He certainly looked like a Mandalorian, his armor was too new to be the set that he sought. Knowing there was no need to hide the truth, Korvis removed his helmet and answered truthfully.

“Business, though it is not a bounty I seek this time. My records search has stated a Mandalorian was brought here as a captive a long time ago, but no record of his release is mentioned. My aim is to find and return his set of armor to his family. The creed dictates as much. You know the creed do you not?”

Nez nodded in reply to the giant Mandalorian’s question.

“What are you asking Korvis?”

“Just that some wear the armor, but do not follow the way. It is good to see that you are not one of those dar'manda.” Korvis replied. “As far as what I am asking. It is probably not yours to give, but what I seek for now is information and perhaps permission to search.”

Aura watched the room carefully, using the Force to get a full picture of the room. She could see most of the existing room happily enjoying the excuse for a break. She caught snippets of a conversation between Korvis and Nez but not all of it. She made a mental note to ask Nez later what it was all about. She eyed the two newcomers, one of which reeked of the dark side, with wary caution. She was not the only dark sider here but she was an unknown quantity. She could feel her friend Elyon’s uneasiness. Her companion seemed much more likable.

Whether it was the Force of her gut she couldn’t tell but she decided to face the newcomers head on and let Nez handle the mando. She trusted that he would let her know when it was a good time to address whatever he wanted with armor, which was the only bit she caught clearly. Finally, she looked at the woman who was perched on her shoulder and rolled her eyes. “We just got here. Come sit and have a drink,” she replied and pulled a seat next to her. “You can help me entertain our new guests.”

Aura looked at the newcomers and smiled.

“Hello there, welcome to our little get together. What’s your favorite poison?” she asked, paying particular attention to the woman.

Eleceos continued to drink his tea in peace. He had no cause for qualms and intended to only be calm and collected with any who may appear in this cantina. The thought of rough spoken miners enjoying themselves with drinks and revels after a hard day’s work was of no concern to the Jedi.

The idea of the temple, though, that was appealing to the Miraluka. Perhaps he’d get the opportunity to visit the historic sight.

Turning towards the newcomers he raised his drink in welcome and opened himself up to the possibility of conversation and interaction with all.

Aura waited for answer and didn’t receive one. Shrugging, she looked at Eleceos and struck up a conversation, waiting for the newcomers to respond.

“So have you visited any Jedi temples yet?”

“Unfortunately not. I’ve been to the ruins of several, but never one still standing. I have come across fonts of Light Side energy, but nothing significant.”

Ele smiled to the Odanite. He continued to enjoy his visit and the feeling of being with other Jedi.

“I do hope to keep in touch with you Jedi of Kiast. There is a level of kinship I feel with you all. It’s quite powerful.”

Aura smiled easily.

“I agree. It’s nice to be around fellow Jedi. There is a certain calm to the Force I don’t think I’ll ever miss. Tell me, who is your Jedi master?”

Ele’s smile faltered a bit.

“I never had a formal Master. Everything that I learned was either self taught, or learned through the Force. I can’t read, as a Miraluka, but I can pick up traces l, memories, and feelings through touch. That is how I learned about the Jedi Order. I guess you could say that the Force itself was my Master.”

There was a longing sadness in his Voice for a moment, but his demeanor returned to normal as he carried on.

“The Force is probably the best teacher of all. I think my own master would agree that a master only helps guide you on your journey the Force has in store for you. You ever get to spare or meditate with a bunch of Jedi yet?”

Ele thought on the words Aura claimed of her Master. They seemed wise. And wisdom was a hard to to develop and teach.

“Your Master sounds like one I’d love to meet.”

As to their second question, Ele gave a short smile.

“Not really. I’ve met the occasional Jedi. But they’re not very prevalent around Selen, or the other territories I’ve found myself. I also lived a veto solitary life for most of my existence. It was safer that way. ”

“Vorsa truly is a great master. I’m lucky to have found her,” replied Aura with a smile.

“After we are done here, we should go to the temple together and meditate. It’s very peaceful there. Will you be in the area for a while?”

“I have no prior commitments at this time. I would stay for only as long as I am welcomed. It is not my wish or intention to cause any spectacle around your Clan.”

“We’ll have to arrange something, if you still wish to,” she offered with a smile. “I think you’d love the Jedi temple. There is a great trail leading to it that is worth walking. We make our padawans take it at least once.”

“I shall look forward to experiencing it for myself. I’m sure the trail is an excellent tribute of dedication.”

Ele returned to smile as he requested a second cup of tea from the Cantina provider.

“I almost wish I had the experience of a true Padawan. I’m sure the time spent is most rewarding to Master and student.”

“It is nice to have someone to guide you or provide a sounding board, should you need it. I have found memories of sparring sessions,” she said, unconsciously rubbing her arm.

Aura sipped her drink and looked around the room. Everyone seemed to be stuck in their own little conversations. She turned back to her fellow Jedi.

“What would you say is your best skill as a Jedi?”

Ele stayed silent for a moment. If he had eyes, they’d have looked forward as he was in thought. After a moment he reached his hand forward.

“May I please take your hand? It would be much easier to show you, than to tell you.”

“Sure,” she said as she placed her her hand in Eleceos’.

As the flesh of her hand touched his own, Ele’s mind filled with images of the Zeltrons past. He saw a younger Aura clashing sabers with a tree-like individual, perhaps a fabled Neti.

He felt her frustrations rising. Her inability to beat this stronger individual in a dual getting the better of her. This was probably her Jedi Master.

The Miraluka took the scenes before him and played them back into Aura’s mind. Like a circular connection with her mind.

“I am physically unable to touch others without taking their memories and feelings from them into myself. My mental powers Telepathy are immensely powerful, and the future holds no doors from me, sometimes when when I’m not actively looking.”

Aura looked at Eleceos.

“Wow, that’s something else. I’ve tried telepathy before but I never got it to to work quite that well. Maybe you can show me more how you do that when we visit the temple?” she asked.

“I’ll show what I can. Most of it is innate. I can’t control it. It’s why I had to live in seclusion for the majority of my life. But who knows, maybe the Temple will be able to help me.”
